Saint chavara birthhome pilgrim centre is the birthplace of ST. Kurikakose eliyas chavara. It is also known as chavara bhavan and chavara church or palli. 250 year old house of ST. Chavara is preserved in its original and primitive form. This is a House of prayer for formalies and students. It is under the care of CMI prior General House, chavara hills. Kakkanade. Kochi

It is my privilege and joy to welcome you to St. Chavara Birth Home Pilgrim Centre, Chavara Bhavan, Kainakary—the sacred birthplace of Saint Kuriakose Elias Chavara, the first canonized male saint of the Catholic Church from India. This holy place, nestled in the serene beauty of Kuttanad, is where a humble child was born on 10 February 1805 and grew to become a saint whose life transformed the Church and society through faith, education, charity, and compassionate service.
For over two centuries, this blessed home has remained a beacon of prayer and inspiration. Thousands of pilgrims visit every year to experience the simplicity of Saint Chavara’s life, seek his intercession, and renew their relationship with God.
